Custom Embroidered Patches

Why Order Custom Embroidered Patches?

Richer Texture Than Flat Prints, Built for Apparel

Flat prints fade easily over time and can look a bit thin. While our custom enamel pins are sharp and premium for accessories, a flexible embroidered patch is the perfect partner for larger designs on hoodies, hats, or everyday clothing. It gives you that distinct, textured 3D look while staying lightweight and moving naturally with your clothes without any heavy metal sag.

Versatile Backings for Any Fabric

The attachment options for patches are incredibly flexible. If you want to swap them out on the fly, go with Velcro backing. It is the gold standard for tactical packs and morale gear. If you prefer a quick, no-sew method, an iron-on backing lets you permanently attach the patch to sleeves, chests, or bags using a standard household iron.

Bulk Savings: More Volume, Lower Prices

Because embroidery requires fixed digitization and machine setup costs, ordering more pieces can greatly lower the price per patch. Whether you are outfitting a school club, organizing a corporate event, or producing team uniforms in bulk, custom embroidered patches are a smart way to get a premium, retail-ready look while keeping the budget under control.

Embroidery Coverage Guide

50%, 75%, or 100%? How to Choose the Right Embroidery Coverage

Embroidery coverage simply means how much of the background fabric is covered by stitching versus how much is left visible. Here is a quick, honest breakdown of our three options to help you choose the right fit for your design and budget.

01

50% Embroidery Partial Coverage

Only the core logo, text, or design elements are stitched, leaving about half of the twill background fabric exposed.

The Bottom Line: This is our most budget-friendly option because it uses less thread and production time. Because the finished patch is lightweight and flexible, it is perfect for thinner fabrics like T-shirts, polo shirts, or light windbreakers, helping the garment avoid sagging or pulling out of shape.

02

75% Embroidery Standard Coverage

About three-quarters of the patch is filled with dense stitching, with the background fabric only showing through small gaps, inner text spaces, or borders.

The Bottom Line: This is our most popular choice and the safest bet for almost any design. It gives your artwork a distinct, premium 3D texture while keeping the patch flexible. It is the go-to option for standard corporate logos, school clubs, and sports team badges.

03

100% Embroidery Full Coverage

The entire surface of the patch is completely covered in heavy thread from edge to edge, with zero background fabric visible.

The Bottom Line: This creates the sturdiest, thickest, and most premium-feeling patch possible. It is the industry standard for military insignia, police badges, and tactical morale patches. While it costs a bit more due to the high stitch count, the heavy-duty, retail-ready quality is unmatched.

Bold Stitching, Strong Brand Feel

This custom embroidered patch is a good example of when embroidery is the better choice. The design is built around bold lettering, strong outlines, and a classic patch look.

For this project, the goal was not to make the surface flat, but to give the logo more texture and presence. Raised stitching helps the main design stand out against the brown and gold background.

The gold details give the patch a vintage badge feel, while the white merrowed border helps clean up the shape and protect the edge.

For bold logo patches like this, embroidery adds depth, texture, and a more durable hand-feel. It works well for streetwear patches, dance crew patches, club patches, jacket patches, hat patches, and custom logo patches that need strong visual impact.

Raised Stitching Bold Lettering Merrowed Border Classic Texture

If your design uses large letters, thick lines, team names, or a bold brand mark, custom embroidered patches are often the right choice for a classic, textured finish.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

What files do I need to provide for ordering?

Vector files like AI, EPS, or PDF give the sharpest and best results. However, high-resolution PNG or JPG images work perfectly fine too. If you only have a rough sketch or an idea, just send it over—our design team will help refine it into a production-ready setup for free.

How is the price calculated?

Pricing is based on four main factors: the size of the patch, the order quantity, design complexity, and the embroidery coverage: 50%, 75%, or 100%. Because we run a factory-direct setup, bulk orders will significantly drop your unit cost.

Can you make the patch look exactly like my artwork?

While physical threads and fabric have certain technical limitations compared to digital screens, we get it as close to 100% as possible. We will always optimize your design for the best stitch result and send you a digital setup proof for your approval before we start production.

What backing options do you offer?

We offer multiple backing methods depending on how you plan to use them:

  • Sew-on backing for permanent, traditional attachment.
  • Iron-on backing for quick and easy application with a standard heat press or household iron.
  • Velcro backing Hook & Loop, perfect for tactical gear and packs.
  • Adhesive backing peel-and-stick, great for temporary events.

If you require any other specialized backing options, please feel free to reach out to our sales team at sales@veperpins.com.
